The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs used a great performance from former first round draft pick Matt Wesberry to beat the Arizona Desert Storm, 3-1, at Desert Storm Stadium. Sudbury reliever Nate Yarbrough was the winner. His record is now 9-2. The losing pitcher was Kevin Spencer. The second-place Desert Storm have lost 5 straight games.

Sudbury needed the clutch hitting of Hugo Cabrera to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blueberry Bulldogs on top, 3-1. For the game, Cabrera had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Cabrera said.
