Desert Storm Stumble, Lose to Chicks
The Memphis Chicks knocked off the Arizona Desert Storm, 8-4, in Federation League action at Russwood Park. Memphis pitcher and Brockton, Massachusetts, native Nick Flores had an outstanding performance. The third-place Desert Storm dropped to 26-25.

Jim Garnet was vital to the Memphis win. He went 2 for 5 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, Garnet hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Chicks.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Memphis skipper Aaron Lazier.
