Kings Lose at Home, 3-1, to St. Louis
|
St. Louis Archies starter Spencer Hay was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Los Angeles Kings, 3-1. Satoharu Sato got the save, the 14th for him this season. St. Louis, at 32-21, is 7 games up in the Federation League Birdbrains Division.
St. Louis used the timely hitting of Collin Stephens to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Archies on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame remarks, Stephens hailed his team's "single-minded determination."
