Blueberry Bulldogs Win Squeaker, 5-4, Over Takoyaki
|
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs stopped the Osaka Takoyaki, 5-4, at Takoyaki Park. The Blueberry Bulldogs got a big game from Zachery Lambert, who went 4-5 with 4 singles. Sudbury reliever Dan Bowen picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Dave Sartuche was saddled with the loss. Justin Roeber earned the save, his 36th in 39 tries.
Brian McNally came through with a big-time hit for Sudbury. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said McNally.
The win gives Sudbury a season record of 72-57.
