Kyiv picked up a win at Porters Ballpark, bumping off the Dublin Porters, 5-3. Pitcher Billy Roland was a major reason the Cossacks emerged victorious. Hector Durazo notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 5-3. Kyiv is now 74-57, Dublin 59-72.
Kyiv needed the clutch hitting of Jeremy Gillespie to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cossacks on top, 5-3. For the game, Gillespie had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Kyiv manager Boris Lahutin called it "a pretty good win."
