The Osaka Takoyaki rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Vicente Tejeda to a win, beating the Arizona Scorpions, 9-2, at Desert Storm Stadium. The winning pitcher was Tejeda, now 9-11. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. Ron Antle collected his 1st save.
Sam Clark hit a 2-run double off Ronaldo Sardinha in the top of the third, which put the Takoyaki in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Clark had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"Vicente's a gamer," said Osaka manager GM KDR. "Glad he's on our side."
With the win, Osaka upped its record to 74-70.
