Starting pitcher Steve Wilkerson gave the Los Angeles Kings a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Hanoi Dragon Warriors, 3-2, at The Nest. Chris Roberts, now 7-8, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Jim Davis closed the game out for Los Angeles, earning his 38th save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Greg Barford? The five-time All-Star Barford stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Los Angeles up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Barford told the Los Angeles Herald.
