Knights Suffer One-Run Loss at San Antonio
|
Estadio Azteca hosted a real pitchers' duel.
San Antonio Aztecs starter Justin Kowalick hurled his team past the Brooklyn Knights, 2-1. The Aztecs, at 69-78, sit in third place in the Alliance League Dimwits Division.
The Aztecs got a big hit from third baseman Josh Gingerich. Facing Brooklyn pitcher Ray Totino in the bottom of the fifth, Gingerich pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 10th home run of the season put the Aztecs ahead, 2-1.
"We were in it," said Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang. "We just didn't score enough runs."
