|
The Dublin Porters knocked off the East Haddam Hyenas, 3-2, in Federation League action at Ballpark of East Haddam. Dublin pitcher and Sydney, Australia, native Karl Gordam had an outstanding performance. Trenton Peterson got the save, the 2nd for him this season. Dublin is off to a hot start at 5-1.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jesse Oswald? The 24-year old center fielder Oswald stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Dublin up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
Oswald called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
