Blueberry Bulldogs Raise Rally Flag, Beat St. Louis, 10-9
|
Tony Sandoval was a vital contributor to the 10-9 Sudbury victory over St. Louis. The Blueberry Bulldogs center fielder went 3-3 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Sudbury pitcher Madidou El Khalej got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Randy Nelson got the loss. Sudbury is now 65-89.
Had Jonas Ragsdale not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Ragsdale hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 10-9, in favor of the Blueberry Bulldogs.
"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Sandoval said.
