Hits Galore: Clark Drills 5 Hits
Sam Clark knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Russwood Park, he made his case to be considered among that group.

The 23-year-old center fielder hammered 5 hits in 6 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Memphis Chicks fell, 13-10, to the East Haddam Hyenas.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Hyenas manager Joe Jankowski told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Clark wasn't the difference."

Sam Clark doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ruben Garcia in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

This year, Clark is hitting at a .296 pace with 8 home runs and 52 RBIs. He has played in 117 games and scored 66 times.
