Rodriquez Heroics Not Enough in 6-5 Loss to Pittsburgh
San Antonio got a terrific game from second baseman Victor Rodriquez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Pittsburgh, 6-5. Rodriquez hit 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times. Andy Buhrke was credited with the save, his 49th in 54 tries. With the win, Pittsburgh upped its record to 96-66.

Lugh Hughes helped out the Pittsburgh cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the right fielder went 2-4 with a double and a walk.

Hughes told a Pittsburgh Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
