Blueberry Bulldogs Win at East Haddam, 5-3
|
Ballpark of East Haddam was the site of a competitive game between the East Haddam Hyenas and Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs.
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs picked up a win at Ballpark of East Haddam, knocking off the East Haddam Hyenas, 5-3. Starting pitcher Josh Freeland played a key role in the triumph. Freeland picked up the win for Sudbury, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 7-3. Luis Espinoza recorded the save for Sudbury, his 17th of the season.
With Sudbury leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Freeland hit a slider from Ryan Kamps for a run-scoring double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Blueberry Bulldogs ahead, 2-0.
"Josh made some big pitches when he needed to," said Blueberry Bulldogs manager Lord Parquad.
The Blueberry Bulldogs, at 38-27, lead by one game in their division.
