Porters Get Thrilling 7-6 Win
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Ballpark of East Haddam.
The Dublin Porters topped the East Haddam Hyenas, 7-6, with center fielder Kasey Stephens playing a big role. Stephens belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Porters in the win. Dublin reliever Zion Anthony picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chris Newell took the loss.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Stephens delivered big-time for Dublin, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Chris Newell. The game-changing hit put the Porters on top, 6-5.
"This game tested our mettle," said Stephens.
The win gives the Porters a record of 4-3.
