Fading Wayfinders Lose 6th Straight
|
St. Louis picked up a win at Team2 Ballpark, bumping off the Waikiki Wayfinders, 5-4. Pitcher Jim Harrington was a major reason the Archies emerged victorious. Jesus Gutierrez recorded the save for St. Louis, his 3rd of the season. St. Louis sits at 5-2.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Albert Salgado came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Waikiki pitcher Johnny Budin, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting St. Louis on top, 5-4.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Salgado said.
