The Cork Claws said they felt the Round 2 with the Corpus Christi Beach Boys would go the distance.

But it didn't end up being that difficult, as Cork advanced to the Round 3 with a 13-10 score, to clinch the series 4-1 at Beach Boys Ballpark.

"Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Tony Lopez, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling good about our chances to win the Round 3."

For the series, Lopez hit .529 with a .704 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Cork Claws don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Melbourne Aces - Rhome Rhavioli series. Melbourne leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
