Shepard Strokes 6 Hits
Tuesday, August 15th , 2051
Rory Shepard put on a hitting clinic as the Kansas City Hepcats dumped the Mexico City Mole, 19-10, at Hepcats Ballpark.
The Kansas City second baseman made Mexico City defenders earn their pay, lashing Mexico City pitching for 6 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Shepard said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Rory Shepard doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Victor Gutierrez in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Shepard is hitting at a .309 pace with 20 home runs and 69 RBIs. He has played in 110 games and scored 76 times.
