Raucous Sportsman's Park Crowd Propels Kings to 2-0 Victory; Series Tied at 2
|
The Los Angeles Kings and the Pittsburgh Yinzers will take the Divisional Series to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Kings shut out the Yinzers, 2-0, at Sportsman's Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Los Angeles right-hander Jeremy Valentine did his part. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball.
Valentine, who was born in Lodi, California, threw 94 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Valentine.
Game 5 is scheduled for Monday at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
