St. Louis Takes 2-0 Series Lead Behind 4 RBIs from RF Nevarez
Behind the big bat of right fielder Marcos Nevarez, the St. Louis Archies have opened up a healthy early lead in the World Series. The Archies topped the Detroit Pizzas, 6-5, at Team2 Ballpark in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Nevarez went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 to power St. Louis to victory.

Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 33-year old first baseman Pat Hamilton had a real shot to win the game. Detroit pitcher Jose Giminez was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Hamilton hit a run-scoring single. The Archies had a walk-off triumph.

"I think that game took a few years off my life," St. Louis manager Terry Schneekloth said.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 26th , 2048 at Pizzas Ballpark in Detroit.
