Knights Down Dragon Warriors, 6-4
|
The Hanoi Dragon Warriors got a sterling performance from left fielder Ronnie Viverette, but the Brooklyn Knights still prevailed, 6-4. Viverette went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Greg McDowell got credit for the win, improving to 8-8. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings. With the win, the Knights have a record of 42-35.
The Knights got a big at-bat from third baseman Anton Goenaga. For the game, Goenaga was 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Brooklyn a 3-2 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Goenaga told the Brooklyn Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
