Dragon Warriors Hand Brooklyn 5-2 Loss
|
The Hanoi Dragon Warriors defeated the Brooklyn Knights, 5-2, in Alliance League action at Brooklyn Coliseum. Hanoi pitcher Devon Wood had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Wood, now 1-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The Dragon Warriors, now 8-2, have stormed out of the gates.
Hanoi used a well-timed hit by Scot Shearing to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Dragon Warriors ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We're trending in the wrong direction," said Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang.
