Blueberry Bulldogs Use Late Rally to Win
|
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs faced a tough opponent in Detroit pitcher Kwan-wuk Tae, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pizzas Ballpark by a final score of 6-2. Tae went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Sudbury starter Adrian Hernandez was credited with the win after throwing 113 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The Blueberry Bulldogs have hit the ground running, raising their record to 8-3. While it's still too soon to talk about Sudbury hoisting their 2nd World Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Sudbury took the lead, 4-2, on Josh Freeland's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Detroit pitcher Vance Niec in the top of the eighth.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Freeland.
