Late Rally by Beavers Secures 6-3 Win
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Beavers Park, knocking off the St. Louis Archies, 6-3. Starting pitcher Jason Scothorn was a big reason why. The win went to Rodolfo Merlos in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Nate Edmondson took the loss. With the loss, St. Louis is 7-4.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Greg Lee came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing St. Louis pitcher Alex Garcia, he hit a 0-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Portland on top, 4-3.

Lee told a Portland Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
