Hot Bat Cooled, Hernandez Hitless Against Blueberry Bulldogs
Tuesday, April 30th , 2047
The 20-game hitting streak of Pittsburgh Yinzers second baseman Oscar Hernandez came to an end at Bulldogs Ballpark. The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs held him hitless in 4 at-bats and also sent the Yinzers down to defeat, 10-0.
Later, Hernandez acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him.
"It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one."
Hernandez is currently batting .376 with 5 home runs, 15 runs scored and 9 RBIs. His OBP is .392.
