Big Day with Bat: Putty 5-for-5
Tuesday, June 25th , 2047
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Ed Putty of the Brooklyn Knights had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 10-3 win over the Lansing Red Storm at Brooklyn Coliseum.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 22-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Ed Putty singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
To date, Putty has collected 74 hits for a .286 average. He has posted 6 home runs, scored 28 runs and driven in 29 runs.
