Sunday Crushes 3 Homers Against Los Angeles
Sunday, June 19th , 2050
Josh Sunday brutalized the Los Angeles Kings pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 9-8 Hanoi victory at The Nest. The Hanoi Dragon Warriors right fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Josh Sunday today," Kings manager Jim KP said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Josh Sunday hit a three-run home run off Dan Elliott in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dan Elliott in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Adan Dunning in the 7th.
This season, Sunday has delivered 62 hits in 238 at-bats for a .261 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .349 clip and his totals also include 35 RBIs and 35 runs scored. This year Sunday has played in 61 games.
