Beavers Luke Spradley Wins AL Award

It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Luke Spradley, the Portland Beavers 25-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Alliance League Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 14 hits in 27 at-bats, compiling a .519 average with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs.
This season, Spradley has posted a batting average of .293 with 78 hits in 266 at-bats, 19 home runs and 49 RBIs. He has also scored 47 runs, walked 33 times and compiled a .374 OBP.
