Red-Hot Widel Scorches Red Storm Sunday, July 25th , 2049 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Jason Widel, it came around today. The 31-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Ballpark of Atlanta to pace the 15-5 Dublin Porters victory over the Lansing Red Storm. Lansing skipper GM TDen told reporters in the press room that "Widel deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Widel hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Jason Widel singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off David Mareno in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
