Irate Lambert Suspended 3 Games Thursday, July 14th , 2050 Zachery Lambert's disrobing act in yesterday's loss to the St. Louis Archies at Team2 Ballpark cost him a 3-game suspension. The league office informed the Los Angeles Kings today that their right fielder would be suspended for "his poor conduct and unacceptable behavior that made a farce out of the game." After being called out on strikes, Lambert was ejected by the home plate umpire after a heated and animated discussion. In protest for the ejection, he proceeded to throw his bat down, take off his batting gloves, cap, shirt, socks and shoes and left them at home plate, refusing to pick them up. Asked about the suspension, Lambert sheepishly told reporters, "I did a stupid and embarrassing thing. Let's just leave it at that." This year, Lambert has hit at a .296 pace and produced 36 RBIs, 5 home runs and scored 38 runs. |
