Garcia Stretches Hit String to 33

Alex Garcia has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 28-year-old St. Louis Archies second baseman extended his streak to 33 games, going 1-for-5 as St. Louis got the best of the Waikiki Wayfinders at Team2 Ballpark, 2-1.
"Alex has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Archies manager Terry Schneekloth said. Alex Garcia singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and flied out in the 10th.
On the season, Garcia is batting .318 with 16 home runs and 59 RBIs. He has played in 102 games.
