Better Mades Pitching Ravaged by Stevens
Wednesday, May 20th , 2048
Kynan Stevens was at the head of a Kalamazoo Kings hit parade at Grosse Pointe Grounds. The 20-year-old went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Grosse Pointe Better Mades that marched off with the 11-6 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Kings skipper Roberto Vargas following the game. "Kynan did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Stevens did more than fine, dominating the Better Mades at the plate during his record-making 5-for-6 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging second baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Kynan Stevens singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
To date Stevens has chalked up a .407 average with 2 home runs, driven in 17 runs and scored 23 times.
