CR Relief Ace Hernandez Named Best Hurler

The Grosse Pointe Better Mades bullpen was superb in July -- and Jorge Hernandez was a big reason for that success. He was named the CBD Rookie League Pitcher of the Month today.
He picked up no saves in no save opportunities and had 23 strikeouts in 23.2 innings. Hernandez racked up 4 wins and no losses.
For the year, Hernandez has collected no saves in 4 relief appearances. He has also notched 59 strikeouts and 40 walks in 76 innings while registering a 5.09 ERA and a 5-4 won-lost record.

CR's Best Batter Selected

At only 22 years of age, Dan Henderson could very well have many more months like this last one during his career.
That would be great news for fans of the Galveston Gumdrops, as July was one to remember for the center fielder and he has captured the CBD Rookie League Batter of the Month award.
On the month he hit .398 with 12 home runs, 51 RBIs and 40 runs scored.
A look at his current stats shows Henderson with a .381 average, 12 home runs, 51 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has played in 28 games.
