McLean, Morales Receive 4-Game Suspensions Wednesday, June 19th , 2041 The action was hot and heavy at a recent Cork-Long Island game at Claws Ballpark in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Claws Chad McLean and Long Island's Carlos Morales will each miss 4 games for their roles in the fight. "We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we believe that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe." So far this year McLean has hit .345 with 6 home runs, 16 RBIs and 24 runs scored. This season Morales has logged 8 relief appearances, 22.1 IP, 23 strikeouts, and a 3.63 ERA. His W-L mark is 1 win and no losses, and he has no saves. |
