League Suspends Clark and Doering for Brawl Tuesday, July 23rd , 2041 Yesterday at Fenway Park Sam Clark and Chris Doering got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Buffalo Red Sox and Long Island Ducks. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Clark will have to sit out 3 while Doering would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Thus far this season Clark has hit .232 with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 12 times. To date he has nailed down 0 saves for his club. In 22 relief appearances, Doering has 37 strikeouts in 34 innings with a 4.50 ERA and a 1-1 mark. |
