Playoffs Won't Happen for Ducks Monday, August 19th , 2041 Even the most die-hard fans of the Long Island Ducks will likely now start focusing on next year. The team was today mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. "We're disappointed," said Ducks starting pitcher Dave Nevarez. "Not just for ourselves, but also for the fans that stick with us every year." Before this season, the Ducks last missed the playoffs in 2038. In the 23 years they have been a CBD Rookie League franchise, they have made the playoffs 18 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Ducks have only missed the playoffs once. Long Island has won the Round 3 2 times in their history. |
