Tuesday, July 16th , 2047
Galveston second baseman Silvério Camarinho had a big day at Gumdrops Grounds against the Colorado Springs Generals. The 19-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 7-1 Gumdrops triumph over Colorado Springs.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Camarinho said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Silvério Camarinho singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
Camarinho on the season is hitting .262 with 1 home run. His stats include 14 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
