Claws Beatty Smacks 5 Hits Saturday, July 20th , 2047 Randy Beatty really sizzled at the plate in his team's 6-1 win over the Long Island Ducks. The Cork first baseman blistered Long Island for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Beatty was too tough to get out today," the Ducks skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Randy Beatty singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Gilberto Orias in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Tyler Swerdlow in the 8th.
