Lipscomb Jacks 3 into the Stands Friday, August 4th , 2051 Jon Lipscomb went on an explosive hitting spree against the Nogales Nómadas del Sol at Nogales Grounds, launching a trio of blasts to help the Sapporo Sea Eagles win, 9-8. The catcher finished 4-for-6 with 4 runs scored and 5 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Lipscomb said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Nogales skipper Kevin Crabtree said Lipscomb was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Jon Lipscomb hit a two-run home run off Aaron Kent in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Aaron Kent in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jerry Ortega in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. Thus far this season, Lipscomb is hitting .530 with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has 44 hits in 83 at-bats and has played in 20 games. |
