Laredo's Manzo Sidelined for Season Friday, September 6th , 2052 The season is finished for Jose Manzo of the Laredo Diamonds. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Diamonds starting pitcher suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Jefferson J-Hawks. Team doctors said it would take at least 7-8 months to heal. Manzo has gone 7-0 this season with an ERA of 2.22 and 78 strikeouts in 73 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .246 against him. |
