Cloverleaf Halts Petticrew's Hitting Steak Saturday, September 7th , 2052 It was the best of both worlds for the Cloverleaf Imperials at Imperials Grove, as they defeated the Mexico City Mole, 5-0, and also snapped Shane Petticrew's 20-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old Mexico City second baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Petticrew, we just wanted to win the game," said Imperials skipper Jim Flores. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Petticrew frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Petticrew is currently hitting at a .290 pace with 25 home runs and 57 RBIs. He has played in 122 games and scored 77 times. |
