Culbreath Goes Cycling
Tuesday, July 11th , 2051
Bret Culbreath did everything he could for the Georgetown Spinners -- literally.

The 22-year-old center fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Spinners, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Richfield Outlaws, 14-10, at Outlaws Field.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Culbreath reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Culbreath banged out 4 hits in 6 at-bats and totaled 6 runs batted in and 1 run scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Bret Culbreath hit a three-run double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Caleb Wright in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.

So far this season, Culbreath has recorded a .315 batting average with 90 hits, 16 home runs, 71 RBIs, 55 runs scored and a .396 OBP.
