Louisville Halts Sanchez's Hitting Steak
Tuesday, August 1st , 2051
It was the best of both worlds for the Louisville Prairie Thunder at Prairie Thunder Park, as they defeated the Calgary Winter, 4-3, and also snapped Reynaldo Sanchez's 25-game hitting streak. The 24-year-old Calgary first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Sanchez, we just wanted to win the game," said Prairie Thunder skipper Malik Stovall. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Sanchez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
So far this year, Sanchez is batting .403 with 35 home runs, 97 RBIs and 91 runs scored.
