O'Keeffe Spins Gem, New York Wins
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the New York Empire and the San Antonio Aztecs, Dan O'Keeffe was the difference-maker. The New York left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The save was credited to Dan Ellerbee, his 20th. Their 39-41 record puts the Empire third in the Alliance League Boneheads Division.
O'Keeffe's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 7.2 innings while allowing 5 hits. O'Keeffe, who finished 2nd in the AL in innings pitched with 244.1 in 2036, goes to 4-8 on the year with 98 strikeouts.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said O'Keeffe.
