Though the conditions were not ideal, the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs and East Haddam Hyenas came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

Behind an impressive start by Rourke Ireland, Sudbury beat East Haddam, 2-0. Eric Barone closed the game out for Sudbury, earning his 2nd save.

Ireland, who dominated for Sudbury, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 12. East Haddam batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"Rourke did a good job of managing their lineup," said Sudbury manager Coach John.

The Blueberry Bulldogs, now 2-0, have been playing some good baseball.
