The Buffalo Buffalo beat the Havana Sugar Kings, 4-2. Buffalo pitcher and La Dolorita, Venezuela, native Daniel Hernandez led the way. Hernandez, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 6 walks. Buffalo goes to 14-12.

Emilio Nin had a big 3-run home run for the Buffalo in the bottom of the third inning. With Buffalo trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from John Hoover, who finished 3rd in the AL in wins with 14 in 2037, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Buffalo on top, 3-1.

After the game, Buffalo manager Jim Punk42ae applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
