The Portland Beavers had to overcome a good performance from Buffalo pitcher Glenn DePue to claim a 3-2 win at The Greenhouse. DePue went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Portland reliever Chris Duffy, now 3-3. The loser was Randy Nelson. The Alliance League Dimwits Division-leading Beavers have a record of 52-40.
Matt Lamons, who is tied for 8th in the AL with a .372 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lamons contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Portland up, 3-2.
