Knights Get Past Pittsburgh for 6-5 Win
|
The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Brooklyn Knights picked up a win at Brooklyn Coliseum, knocking off the Pittsburgh Yinzers, 6-5. Starting pitcher Manny Aguayo was a big reason why. Brooklyn reliever Tanner Denny snagged the win, upping his record to 5-0. Mike Fleming shouldered the loss.
Trevor Egan was the walk-off hero for Brooklyn. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Knights designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
In postgame comments to the Brooklyn Daily, Egan said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The third-place Yinzers have lost 6 straight games.
