The Pittsburgh Yinzers defeated the Kyiv Cossacks, 2-0, in Alliance League action at PNC Park. Pittsburgh pitcher Brent Page had a standout performance. Page got the win, improving to 4-3. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Jerry Matthews, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in holds with 7, nailed down the save.

The Yinzers got a gift in the bottom of the fourth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Dwaine Byrne reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Pittsburgh.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Kyiv skipper Boris Lahutin, "and it cost us."

The Yinzers win now puts them at 34-36.
