Cossacks Deal Kings 3-2 Defeat
|
The Kyiv Cossacks picked up a win at Sportsman's Park, topping the Los Angeles Kings, 3-2. On the mound for Kyiv was left-hander Zachery DeShields. He played a principal role in the triumph. Evan King earned the save, his 4th. Los Angeles, at 3-9, is off to a poor start in 2047.
Kyiv used the timely hitting of David Terkeurst to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cossacks ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Zachery was fantastic," said Kyiv manager Boris Lahutin. "Great passion, great pace."
