Ainsworth and Skibbe Suspended 3 Games for Brawl Wednesday, July 7th , 2049 Hillsboro and Omaha were informed today by the league's commissioner that two of their players have been given 3-game suspensions, citing their "inappropriate actions" in the recent altercation in a game played at Hops Ballpark. For their parts in the bench-clearing episode, the Hops Shawn Ainsworth and the Steaks Mark Skibbe will be sitting on the sidelines and will not be permitted to participate in games until the suspensions are served. At present, Ainsworth is batting .285 with 55 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 18 runs and scored 29 times. This season, Skibbe has worked 43 innings with 44 strikeouts en route to a 6-2 record and a 6.70 ERA. |
